Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe avocados
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice or lemon
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Slice the avocados in half and remove the pit (but save it for storing the leftovers). Scoop the avocado flesh into a medium bowl.
  • Mash the avocado with a fork, leave it chunky if desired or mash it smooth.
  • Stir in the lime juice, garlic and salt to taste.
  • To store for up to 4 days, transfer the spread to a container with a lid. Place the avocado pit in the spread; this will help prevent browning.

Notes

  1. Leave out the garlic if desired. Could also add in chopped red onion, cilantro, garlic powder or halved cherry tomatoes.
  2. To freeze - Transfer the spread to a ziplock bag and press it into a flat layer. Freeze for up to 1 month.
