  2. I feel so much luck and gratitude to have found this recipe! So fast and easy and so delicious. I already had a decent vegan gravy recipe but this is better. Thank you Nora!! 🙂

  3. Hello Nora, Nice to meet you. This is my first time on your website & I am so happy that I found you….especially finding this recipe! Thank you!! 🙂 Thank You!! 🙂 This was an AMAZINGLY easy, quick & DELICIOUSLY TASTY recipe!!! I didn’t have all these exact ingredients so I improvised with what I did have in my pantry. Here is what I did…I did not have onion powder so I used my “Simply Organic All Seasons Salt” instead, I cannot have soy, so I used “Magi Seasonings”, it is made of wheat instead of soy (so this does contain wheat gluten if your sensitive to it), it is lower on the sodium spectrum but just as delicious as soy sauce, it can be used in place of soy sauce for any recipe that calls for soy & tastes just like soy sauce as well, but I only used 1 teaspoon instead of 1 Tablespon to cut down on the sodium level. I didn’t have Dijon Mustard so I used French’s Brown Spicy Mustard & I upped the 3/4 tsp. level to 1 full Teaspoon instead of 3/4 of a teaspoon & lastly I used Bob’s Red Mill Organic 100% Stone Ground Whole Wheat Flour instead of white or all purpose flour. At first this was loose & thin in the pot but as it simmered it thickened very very nicely just like in your video. I served this drizzled over my Vegan Stuffed Pepper recipe & it was sooooooo delicious even my husband who is not a vegetarian, like me, absolutely LOVED this Vegan gravy! This will be my go to (Vegan) gravy going forward & I will continue to experiment with it for different flavors(herbs, spices, etc.) to match what I’m cooking, but all the basic ingredients work perfectly here! I am definitely in “YUMYUM” with this gravy & it will proudly reign in my “Gramma Recipe Book” for my family for years to come. God bless & keep cooking! 🙂

    1. Hi Pamela! It is nice to meet you as well! Welcome to Nora Cooks! I’m glad that you enjoyed the gravy! It sounds like you enjoy cooking. Thank you for sharing your comments! Happy cooking!

  4. I made this tonight to go with a homemade vegan Wellington, it is unbelievably tasty and fantastically simple! Thank you so much , your recipes are tremendously yummy!

    1. I’m not exactly sure, around 1/4 cup I think. If you want to know exactly, you will need to divide it into 8 portions.

  5. Very easy and very tasty. I added a splash of wine and some mushrooms. I’ve tried others that just weren’t this simple. I always have the listed ingredients on hand so yours is my new standard recipe.

  6. Absolutely delicious! I crave it.
It goes great on anything. So glad I found this recipe. Thank you for what you do and for sharing with the rest of us. Simple ingredients, delicious and so easy to make! Winner, winner!

    1. Hi Laura. I’m glad you love the gravy recipe! It’s so great to hear that you find my recipes simple AND delicious! Thank you so much for using my recipes, and for sharing! Happy cooking!

  7. Hi Nora,

THE BEST GRAVY OF ALL TIME! It’s bookmarked.
If I had a printer, I’d want my staple recipes like this one in it.

It’s so simple. I will be making it again because it’s delicious, easy, practical, and of course, it’s vegan.
Even my omni boyfriend loved it and was surprised I cooked that. “It’s good, it tastes like actual gravy”, he said, lol.

The third time I used it, I only had a small leftover of your gravy, and he *HATED* the only vegan mushroom gravy from the store.

Long story short, my omnivore will prefer this homemade, vegan gravy over store/canned gravy.
He also had my roasted garlic mashed cauliflower with the gravy before (and vegan stuffing).

I’ll be making your easy vegan gravy in a few minutes. Once again, using it for my savory vegan garlic mashed cauliflower because this recipe is required. I also already made my pan-cooked whole green beans, mushroom, with dried onion, garlic, ginger, cumin, sea salt, pepper, with some veg broth.

This is THE best!! I love your recipes! Thanks again 🙂 ???

    1. Hi Renée. I am really glad that you and your boyfriend love my gravy! It’s a favorite in my household for sure! Thank you for using my recipes! I appreciate you and your enthusiasm, and for taking the time to share your wonderful comments!

  8. Delicious. We had it served over creamy mashed potato, steamed veggies and a plant based schnitzel. Soooo good!

  9. Best vegan gravy found so far. My spouse’s son does not like mushrooms which is sometimes the base of vegan gravies. Thank you so much for sharing, this recipe has transformed our holiday meals. Can’t wait to try it on a vegan poutine 🙂

    1. Hi Olivia. Thank you for your comments! I don’t have a recipe for confetti corn muffins (sounds fun though!), however, I do think the gravy would go well with my vegan cornbread, which could be baked as cornbread muffins.

  10. Best vegan gravy ever. I always go back to this recipe, why try another? Made our Christmas supper so delicious, goes with everything, vegan meat pie or pâté, Wellington, mashed potatoes. Thank you so much for sharing.

  11. This is the easiest and the best gravy I’ve ever made so far. I served it with vegan nut roast and carnivores loved it.  Definitely will make it again to put on anything I make.

  12. I wish I could give more than five stars. This gravy is perfect. I have made it numerous times and I don’t think I’ll ever use another recipe. Thank you!

  13. I don’t know what kind of wizardry I just performed with this recipe but holy moly!!!! This is just straight up GRAVY! Not “oh, I guess this is a nice vegan gravy”. No. This is gravy as I remember it!! What an amazing recipe! I did just one substitution using caramelized onions instead of onion powder since I had some leftover. Tossed all the ingredients except flour into the vitamix, then followed the recipe. I’m definitely making this again! Thank you!!
