  1. The real deal! I used corn starch since I am GF and use coconut aminos in place of soy sauce. Also added dried parsley. Tastes better than gravy ?

  2. Wow!!! This is the best gravy ever.  Discovered it when hosting  a dinner that needed to cater for vegan.  My vegan friend couldn’t believe how good it was,  nor could the rest of the party.  Needless to say, a lot of happy guests (all with this recipe link in tow). Thank you for a delicious & super easy gravy recipe.  Making it again tonight much to the delight of my family.

  3. Definitely going to try this, looks to be exactly what I’m looking for. The store brought meat free options just don’t cut it. I’ll probably sub the vegetable broth with a vegan beef one as we have a brand in aus called massle that makes awesome vegan stock powders in beef, chicken, and of course veg style.

  4. It’s as easy to make as she said, and my roommate loved it! I’m going to try it without the mustard next time bc I’m personally not a fan of mustard. I think it tasted great besides that one small note of mustard

  5. Nora, you are my favorite vegan recipe creator! (adding red lentils to our pasta sauce has become a pro-life-tip at this point)

LOVE this recipe, especially because it is oil free. And it’s so flexible to add dried herbs to punch it up a bit. Super yummy with added tarragon. We use it over biscuits. Thanks for another winner.

    1. Yes, it can be frozen. It may need to be whisked well or even blended to make it smooth again after freezing though.

  6. Very very tasty. I made a vegan dinner for thanksgiving and my parents couldn’t tell it wasn’t just a turkey or chicken gravy.  It was also very quick to whip up, took less than 10 minutes.

  7. Thank you for this great recipe! I’ve made it 3 times now and it’s wonderful. This last time I added a little kitchen bouquet to make it “brown” gravy for a picky person in my family

  8. I initially thought the recipe was a bit bland so I added poultry seasoning and salt to taste, game changer! I was instantly reminded of thanksgiving gravy. I also ended up using white whole wheat flour because it was all I had. But Wow! Best gravy I’ve tried so far! This is a keeper. I love how quick and easy it is to make. I had tried a mushroom gravy before this recipe from another blog and it was yuck! I threw the whole thing away and not only that the color of the blended mushroom gravy reminded me of cement. It didn’t look appetizing however this recipe looks and taste like the real deal. Thank you for a great recipe!

    1. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I’ll have to try adding some of that seasoning sometime and see what I think. 🙂

  9. This was so simple to make and soooo delicious. I used it as a poutine gravy and it worked really well. It’s nice to not use a store bought gravy mix.

  10. Beyond delicious! I didn’t use the nutritional yeast because I couldn’t find any, and I added other seasonings to it. This recipe is absolutely fantastic. The consistency is perfect, it tastes delicious, and it’s SO EASY to make. I’ll be adding gravy to everything now! I’m truly blown away

    1. I’m thrilled to hear you loved the gravy, and found it easy to make! Thank you for sharing your review, and enjoy!

  11. Our daughter had Covid over thanksgiving so we kept postponing our meal…she still can not taste food!! But, we finally decided to go ahead. She whipped this up just as everything was about ready to eat…SO Delish!!!! I will be making this again and regularly!! Smooth, creamy, and made good mashed potatoes even better!!
    Thanks!!
