  1. I have tried a few different vegan gravy recipes. This is my favorite by far! The taste can rival any traditional meat-based gravy and it’s so easy to make! Thank you for sharing.

  2. Amazing gravy… super easy to make and was great with our vegan chick’n, potatoes and stuffing! I’ve never liked gravy and this was so good I ate lots of it! My husband has been raving about it!

  3. This gravy is AMAZING!! It is SO delicious and SO easy to make!! My only complaint is that I wish I could give MORE than just 5 stars!!!(lol). Thank you for this recipe!!

  4. This was very good – better the next day(s) too. Added a little garlic powder and dried thyme. Definitely keeping this one!

  5. The rating is for posting this recipe as I have yet to make it. I find myself without soy sauce and have already done my shopping for the week. I have everything else on hand. I also have vegetarian Worcestershire sauce as well as a bottle of liquid smoke. I think I could sub one (or a combo of both) for the soy sauce. I hope it works out!

    1. I haven’t tried it but I hope it works! You may need to add salt, since that’s primarily what the soy sauce is adding here. Thanks!

  6. This came together so fast when I realized I had no vegan gravy in the house on “buy nothing day.” Thank you! It is yummy.

  7. SO GOOD AND EASY!  So glad I made this instead of using a bunch oil/fat for the base of a traditional gravy.  Will definitely make again!!! Thank you!

  8. Thank you Nora! We stopped eating meat in May. I didn’t think I could ever do it, you have to change everything you’re use to at 50. Through trial and error we have stuck to it and now I won’t go back. Thanks to your recipes. I made this yesterday for thanksgiving along with your “meat loaf”, vegan mashed potatoes  and green bean casserole. Absolutely the best!!! So flavorful and easy to make. I follow your recipes to a T. Everyone loved it, even those that still eat meat. Even your “sloppy joes” is to die for.  Thank you for posting all these recipes. It’s so appreciated!!

  9. Made this for me & my son for thanksgiving and it is AMAZING & soo easy I will always use this recipe going forward! Even my omnivore husband liked it! Huge win

  10. We used this for Thanksgiving and it was PERFECT!  I searched for “easy vegan gravy” and when I saw your recipe in the top results I thought, “Nora’s always spot-on with her recipes” and I was not mistaken. Thank you!

  11. Super delicious on whipped potatoes! Absolutely loved this recipe. Everyone enjoyed it at our fully vegan Thanksgiving this year. I was so surprised at how quick and easy it was to make. Thank you!

  12. First all vegan Thanksgiving today. Half of the recipes came from your site; thank you! This gravy had to be the hands down winner! As soon as people took a bite théy commented how delicious it wàs. Needless to say, you’ll have 6 new people visiting your site tonight!

  13. This was a life saver for thanksgiving this year! We added some rosemary and it was so easy and delicious! You are our go-to for every recipe from sweet to savory, thank you Nora Cooks! ?????

  14. Loved this! My modifications, added 1/2 tsp. each garlic powder and poultry seasoning. Just used 1.5 tsp. of the Better ‘ Bullion for 2 cups of water or otherwise is too salty. I found that putting the flour into a handheld strainer and tapping into the mixture resulted in absolutely no lumps when heated!

  15. This vegan gravy is so easy yet so delicious! Thank you for posting this recipe! My only tweaks, which are not needed but tasty for me, are Gravy Master (which is accidentally vegan), turmeric for color, garlic powder, ground black pepper, and vegan butter. Also, I prefer corn starch to flour (use half the amount). Either way, this gravy is the simplest but the best!

  16. Woot! I honestly only just tried this because of all of the positive reviews! The ingredients seemed interesting and I couldn’t imagine it tasting as good as everyone said…but wow! Thanks for a fabulous recipe – We’ve been trying vegan gravy recipes for years and could never get them to taste so good! This one will be our go to! Also to the person who suggested using this on poutine, that’s a fabulous idea!
